Welcome! You probably came to this page through a link on Flickr or a Google image search. Or maybe via information in the metadata in one of my photos. Regardless of how you got here, thank you for your interest in my work! Just by being here, you are displaying uncommon honesty and making a difference for creators everywhere.

I offer different types of licenses depending on how you intend to use my images. The rest of this page explains the distinctions.

Non-Comercial Usage

You are free to use my images under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license*. This license basically means that you may use my images in a non-commercial way, so long as you include attribution to Jason Noffsinger – jasonnoffsinger.com along with the image. If the usage is on-line, you must also include a link back to the original image page on this website or on Flickr.

Different people define non-commercial usage differently. Here are some examples of non-commercial usage that I think are acceptable:

  • Use of the image in an article or blog post on a personal website
  • Use of the image in a school project
  • Use of the image in your personal social media profile
Note: While articles in the Medium.com Partner Program would not typically fall in the non-commercial category, I am a supporter of the program and allow this usage.

Commercial Usage

All commercial and editorial use of my images requires the purchase of a license. License fees are based on a variety of factors such as the type of usage (ad supported editorial, advertising, book cover, etc.), duration/quantity, size/prominence, and territory. To obtain an image license, please contact me with information about the image in question, and your intended use of the image. You can contact me using the form at the bottom of this page.

For the sake of clarity, the following uses would require a commercial license:

  • Inclusion in an article/editorial which is supported by advertising of any kind
  • Inclusion in a blog, collateral, or marketing campaign for a commercial entity
  • Inclusion in a fund-raising campaign for a not-for profit entity
  • A background image for a website/blog relating to your business
  • An individual print for use in a private home or business
  • Inclusion in an album cover for your band
Note: Willamette University and the Willamette University Swim Team are free to use my images from Northwest Conference or University swimming events.
